Of Men and Mer
Youngest daughter of Ulf and Birgit Bright-hand.
Played by Ginger Ludden. Ester’s parents often complained that she was a difficult child. She did not take well to the ways of her parents and so her father asked his brother’s wife, the village weaver, to take her as an apprentice. This is not to say they didn’t want her. On the contrary, her parents adore her. Her father is always eager to see her when he comes home from a hunt and often calls her “starlight”. When she was only six he brought her a flute on a leather cord and hung it around her neck. He had made it for her while he was away with her older sister hunting. She inherited her mother’s features and her musical talent. Though she has her mother’s voice she often sings in public, and at village dances she plays her flute.
